Socially Engaged Artworks
These projects are attempts to relieve and ameliorate conditions in communities I am interested in. The community garden project began in 2020 and is ongoing, while the Sacred Music project and The Breath Project are being conceived now. The community garden was designed to alleviate a local food desert, and the Sacred Music project is concerned with relieving the generational trauma of the legacy of slavery here in the US. The Breath Project is about saving the history and culture decimated by “urban renewal” in North Nashville.
